His research interests have included the study of ethnic variations of adipocyte (fat) hormones and the relationship to the development of insulin resistance and diabetes. He has published his work in the Journal of Metabolism, Journal of American Medical Association, Journal of Obesity, and the Journal of Diabetes Care.
For the past 12 years, Dr. Finley has devoted his himself toward health education. More recently, Dr. Finley has turned his attention and expertise toward translating the rigors of Diabetes and related conditions to the community, in an effort to increase communication with healthcare professionals. His lecture style and content not only include discussions on traditional health topics, but also on socioeconomic issues and their impact on health. He has been featured on the CBS morning show’s “Your Health Segment” and Radio One’s affiliate station(WOLB-AM)- “Ask the physician.” Dr. Finley has turned his publication efforts to local and regional media sources.
Dr. Finley is a member of The American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. In addition, he currently is serving a faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
